The City of Youngstown is seeking public input regarding recommendations for
changes as to how city government is structured (ie. city charter). Suggestions
that have already been mentioned include examples such as: eliminating term
limits for elected officials; mergers with county department; consolidation of
existing city departments; and contract threshold for city council approval.
There will be four public meetings this week (one on each side of town) in which
residents can offer their input. Below are the dates. Our city has undergone
significant changes. This process happens only once every four years. Please
make every effort to attend one of these meetings and offer your input. Thank
you.
